With a wide range of reds being tasted next Saturday at our Big Red tasting, this weekend we focus on two whites.  Specifically, we explore two very different expressions of the same grape – Sauvignon Blanc.

Emmolo Napa Sauvignon Blanc

Made with the idea that less is more, this wine is more minerality-driven than fruit-driven. Not grassy or overly ripe.  Instead it offers delicate fruit flavors and bright minerality.

Dog Point New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

Pale straw in color with a perfumed nose complimented with flinty and smoky notes.  Juicy and mouth filling on the palate with vibrant ripe fruit and the expected acidity of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.  Received 93 pts. from James Suckling.
